DONATIONS AID THROUGH TRADE WELL RECEIVED

With the help of the handloom workshop manager mr. Munir and his team, the 1st 39 artisans and their families received their weekly support of 10 kgs rice and a modest amount for daily necessities. This is the result of the aid relief fund founded by originalhome to support the poorest artisans of the handloom workshop in Panchagarh Bangladesh. Due to the Corona crises many workers have no income and face life under the poverty line. Since the 25th of March, Bangladesh authorities have ordered a total lockdown in an attempt to contain the spread of the virus. The lockdown will be effective at least until the 25th of April.

LOCAL AUTHORITIES OVERSEE THE AID

“It is a difficult task to select the artisans and workers”, according mr Mohammad Khan, founder of the handloom workshop in Panchagarh. The group of people who need support increases every day but we have a strict policy in place of who is supported first. Local authorities authorized the aid relief and oversee selflessly the documentation of the relief fund.

100% NON PROFIT

The COVID-19 AID THROUGH TRADE CAMPAIGN aims to increase support for at least 100 families. The promotion is strictly non-profit for originalhome and all proceeds will benefit the recipients of the program.

LIFE AFTER LOCKDOWN

Even when the lockdown period is over, support will be needed for a long time. The maximum capacity of the workshop is 60 artisans but when the lockdown period is over the 1,5 m social distance rule diminishes the capacity with 50%. Even if the workshop would have a full order port folio, half the workforce will be still jobless.
