We are not only advocates of a greener planet; we also work towards a sustainable business model, with a better distribution of wealth. 20% of our profits is donated to social & environmental causes. We support our partners to improve and expand their businesses to become even more sustainable and create more job opportunities. And we give back to those in need.
We work towards a better distribution of wealth
To build a truly sustainable business and value chain, there is no substitute for commercial viability and profitability. Therefore, we are a for-profit enterprise. However, we do not aim for profit maximalisation.
We use our profits or surpluses to reinvest back into the business to e.g., developing new sustainable materials, improving the products & production processes, expanding distribution, and improving the businesses of our suppliers with financial support to buy raw materials or expanding their capacity.
Our makers determine the price
The makers earn a very small amount of the value of the end product in the market. Therefore, we discuss the prices with our makers to guarantee that they make enough margin. Discounts are not in place in this way of working. All products are made by hand on a non-industrial scale, therefore there is limited to no economies of scale.
Giving back also means being conscious of what you take
That means that our margins are limited, and we apply this type of limitation through all our ways of working. We are grateful to work with people who understand that working for a social cause is of beneficial value. We are cost conscious, inventive, work efficiently and make smart choices. We promote this way of working through the chain. Only then it is possible to work towards a more equal distribution of wealth.
