The glasses, vases and carafes are made from empty wine bottles collected from hotels, restaurants and bars in the tourist areas of Zanzibar, Tanzania. After the wine bottles are cleaned, they are cut into the correct size and shape with a sharp knife and the warmth of a simple candle. To smoothen the edges a sander is used. After quality control, the edges are again sanded by hand with sandpaper. When the glasses are cleaned again, they are packed in boxes and ready to be shipped.
