All candles in the originalhome collection are hand poured. When the wax is melted in big kettles, the craftswomen pour the liquid wax into a jar. The jar is used to pour the liquid wax into an iron mould that contains a cotton wick. Candle pouring is a very precise skill. The wax needs to be poured into the mould in one go to make a consistent candle. It requires control and concentration. It is said that women are the best candle pourers!
Once the candles are solid they are cut to the right length and the crown is carved into the bottom. After quality control, the candles are packed and shipped to the Netherlands.
