The handwoven baskets are made by rural men from Bangladesh who travel to the capital city to find work between seeding and harvest time. The temporary workers are provided a roof over their head and access to other basic needs like cooking and bathing facilities. They do not have to pay for their accommodation and are paid a fair price for each basket they make.

Without a job opporunity, many workers would travel to the capital to find underpaid work and sleep on the streets or in the slums.
