Materials & Production
Nature is at the origin of the originalhome collection. To minimize a negative impact on our eco-system we solely use natural, organic, biodegradable, non-toxic and eco-friendly materials and/or materials that would otherwise be considered as waste. The products have been sourced and produced with the lowest environmental impact possible.
Originalhome follows a strict policy on selecting materials with the lowest footprint on the planet. To safeguard our eco system we solely use:
- Sustainable plant fibres from quickly renewable plants like seagrass and banana plant fibres
- Waste from recycled and upcycled materials like wood from old barns and empty wine bottles

Sourcing & Production Sustainable Plant Fibres
All sustainable plant fibres are locally sourced from non-industrial plantations that are often community owned. The materials are harvested and processed by hand and the makers often use the natural elements like the sun in their production method.
Sourcing & Production Waste Materials
All waste materials are locally sourced. From harvesting and processing the raw materials until the end product; everything is executed by hand in small villages Sometimes simple electrical hand tools are being used.
